We believe in simple ideas, strong relationships, and knitted garms.

About us

Who we are

We are the collective of Threatwives.
Because life seems to be as long as our projects from time to time, we seek deeper connections with makers like us. It takes a whole group of friends to lead a meaningful life and it takes a s&%*load of nerves to get creative work going sometimes.
The more delicate the product, the harder the approach.

Knowing about these conditions, we founded this community for you.
We strive to get you (back) into producing the things you truly love.
You deserve to not only knit, but also to connect with others who do.
In this world of endless possibilities (and also pain, we see you), we want to focus on creating.
Assisting you with our combined knowledge, we can be the knit collective you wished for when you moved to Berlin.

See the profiles of our workshop instructors below.
Or, you know what? Maybe just register yourself a seat at the next one.

Meet Janina

As our trained seamstress, Janina brings clarity and order into the world of knit. She is the mastermind behind our cuts, patterns and garment development, material mastermind and knitting expert - using both her hands and our automated knitting machine, she will teach you not only the basics, but assist you as soon as things become a bit more complex.

Meet Sonja

Threatwives would not exist without Sonja’s business drive, sunny mood and proactivity. Sonja is a hands-on instructor that will never leave you feel like a slipped stitch. With experience ranging from simple knits to highly detailed, complex patterns, Sonja will assist you in our workshops and help you feel comfortable and safe in your new favourite hobby.

Meet Eden

Having gained professional experience in the field of branding and graphic design, Eden supports us with everything design, web and cross-medial de-tanglement.
She also knits, she goldsmiths, she weaves. Eden uses her hands.
Meet her in our workshops to gain insights into many different artforms.

Meet Clara

As another dedicated designer with a dedicated focus on performance art and music, Clara is not just an artistic powerhouse in her own sense, but a well-established knitter. Meet her in out workshops to fuse knitwear’s possibilities with your wildest design or material dreams.

Why become a Threatwife?

People-First Approach

We will put your hands before ours. We always start explaining at a point you’ll understand. You are learning from the makers.

Long-Term Relationships

We’re not just here for the now. Knitting is a long haul. Life is, too. We aim to build meaningful connections in the process.

Proven Process, Flexible Execution

We bring structure where it counts and adaptability where it matters. Our teaching methods are clear, but always responsive.

Respect, Process, Flexible Execution

The second you walk in here, you’re one of the Threatwives. We want to learn just as much as we want to teach you.
